What ULA is
Unity Life Academy is a faith based boxing, mindset and community academy. It exists to walk alongside people who've been overlooked, written off or caught in cycles that are hard to break, and to help them move forward with discipline, confidence and hope.
We do that through structured 10-week camps that combine non-contact boxing training with a weekly mindset session, in small groups where everyone is known. Over time, that grows into the full ULA Development Pathway, a 40-week journey through identity, relationships, purpose and community.
ULA is led by its founder, Andy Campsall, and is being set up as a Community Interest Company. It's launching in central Manchester, and its long-term heart is Wythenshawe.
Our head coach
Jimmy Kelly
Jimmy Kelly is Unity Life Academy's head coach, and he brings a professional career's worth of experience to the gym floor.
Jimmy has been boxing for more than thirty years, since he was five. As an amateur he won the ABA title five times. As a professional he held the WBO Intercontinental light-middleweight title twice and the WBO Intercontinental middleweight title, and fought as a contender for the WBO light-middleweight title. His record stands at 31 fights, 28 wins, 10 of them by knockout, and 3 losses.
Jimmy is a Christian and a family man, and runs two businesses alongside his boxing. He has committed to giving every person who comes to ULA his full effort, through teaching boxing skills and through mentoring.

Faith led, and for everyone
Jesus is at the centre of Unity Life Academy. Our faith shapes how we lead, how we serve and how we treat people. It's the reason ULA exists.
It is not a barrier. ULA is for people of any faith or none. You won't be asked to believe anything to train with us, and you'll be treated with the same respect whoever you are.
