Who we are

This website is run by Unity Life Academy ("ULA", "we"). ULA is being set up as a Community Interest Company and is run by its founder, Andy Campsall. ULA is not a registered charity. For anything to do with your personal information, contact us through the contact page or by the email address shown there when one is published.

What we collect and why

Enquiry form. When you use the contact form we collect the enquiry type you choose, your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, your organisation if you give it, and your message. We use this to reply to you and, if you've asked about joining a camp, sponsoring, volunteering, donating equipment or partnering with us, to follow that up. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where you're asking to take part in something, taking steps before entering into an agreement with you.

We ask you not to include health information, information about offences, or details about other people in the form. If you do, we'll handle it carefully and only for the purpose of replying to you, and we may ask you to have that conversation with us in a safer way.

Website visits. We don't use cookies or analytics that identify you. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as your IP address, the page requested and the time) to keep the site running and secure. Those logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period under its own retention rules.

Crowdfunder. Donations are made on Crowdfunder's website, not ours. Crowdfunder is the data controller for information you give it. We receive from Crowdfunder only what its service shows to campaign owners, and we use it to thank supporters and report on the campaign.

Where your information goes

Messages from the contact form are sent by email to ULA's mailbox, which is hosted by IONOS. The email is sent through a transactional email service. The website itself does not store your message. This website is hosted by Vercel, and its content is managed in Sanity; neither receives what you type into the form.

We don't sell your information and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it, or you've asked us to (for example, when we agree an information-sharing arrangement with a partner organisation that referred you).

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails in our mailbox for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. We review the mailbox at least once a year and delete messages we no longer need. If you join a camp, the information we hold about you as a participant is covered by our data protection policy, which we'll publish on our policies page.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To use any of these rights, contact us.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and our first camps are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through this website.

Changes

We'll update this notice when anything changes, and the date at the top will show when that was.
